Autonomous Private 5G Use Case: Connected Campus

An animated walkthrough of how one private network connects a campus’s robots, kitchens, classrooms and security — working alongside Wi-Fi and run by AIDEN.

This four-minute animated walkthrough shows an Autonomous Private 5G use case for a connected campus. From delivery robots and smart kitchens to interactive learning, campus guidance and local security, it follows how EdgeNectar connects people, devices and services through one dedicated private network.

How the campus network is set up

A rooftop CompactOne system connects to an EdgeNectar server in the campus’s existing IT room. Working alongside Wi-Fi, private 5G supports reliable connectivity for moving devices, staff communications, security cameras and patrol robots. (For how the two technologies divide the work, see private 5G vs Wi-Fi.)

The compact, preconfigured installation can be up and running in 10 minutes — read what plug-and-play private 5G actually means. AIDEN, EdgeNectar’s edge AI, automates day-to-day network operation inside the campus firewall, so the existing IT team can manage the network without specialist telecom expertise. It also provides a controlled path to cloud AI services while keeping local processing and campus control at the center.
