The Challenge

A 120-acre site with no fiber and unreliable Wi-Fi

A 120-acre infrastructure construction project — a highway and commercial complex — needed 24/7 HD video surveillance, remote monitoring from headquarters, AI-based safety detection (PPE compliance, perimeter intrusion), time-lapse documentation, and a temporary but secure network. Traditional options fell short: no fiber on-site, unreliable Wi-Fi in a metal-heavy environment, frequent camera dropouts, weeks of setup time, and security risk over public LTE.

The Solution

CompactOne, cascaded across the site

The site deployed CompactOne — integrated 5G Core plus gNodeB — for dedicated onsite connectivity: two units mounted on temporary poles, HD 4K surveillance cameras with 5G CPE, a local NVR server inside the project office, and satellite/microwave backhaul to headquarters and the cloud. Surveillance traffic runs on a dedicated network resource with isolated IT management, and video stays inside the site firewall before any optional cloud upload.
